Sea Dogs Defeat Rumble Ponies, 5-4
|
The Portland Sea Dogs dealt the Binghamton Rumble Ponies a 5-4 loss at NYSEG Stadium. Ryan Dausch was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Jimmy Ge in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Simon Malloy took the loss. The Sea Dogs, at 14-22, sit in 7th place in the Eastern League North Division.
Portland used the timely hitting of Darrel Onley to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Binghamton manager Jimmy Kohler.
