Win Lifts Crabs to 20-15
|
The Providence Crabs trumped the New Haven Ravens, 8-3, at The Ballpark at Jackson. Providence designated hitter Curtiss May was terrific. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Providence starter Billy Charbonneau was credited with the win after throwing 84 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. Matt Mullin earned the save, his 1st, for the Crabs.
Providence used a well-timed hit by Enmanuel Ramos to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Crabs ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said May.
The 6th-place Crabs go to 20-15.
