Dark Knights Win, 6-3, Versus New Haven
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at The Ballpark at Jackson.
Yonkers starter Chet Ihnat pitched well against the New Haven Ravens at The Ballpark at Jackson. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Yonkers reliever Shepherd Owens was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Zachary Malas took the loss. Tom Young earned the save for Yonkers, his 6th of the year.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ian Baker? The 24-year old center fielder Baker stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Yonkers up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Baker.
The Dark Knights improved their record to 19-17 with the win over New Haven.
