Akron starter Dallas Thompson pitched effectively against the Halifax Frigates at Canal Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. With the victory, the RubberDucks upped their record to 21-13.

Akron pinch hitter Christopher Hippard helped the RubberDucks go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Hippard hit a run-scoring single off Halifax pitcher Tony Burman.

"Dallas was in tempo tonight," said Akron skipper Damon Cordero.
