A good performance from first baseman Jason Wheeler helped the Wichita Pilots defeat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 17-6. Wheeler went 4-5 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 6 for the Pilots. Wichita reliever Lincoln De La Cruz picked up the win, while Samuel Torres took the loss for New Hampshire. The win elevated the Pilots to 17-17.

With Wichita leading 14-5 in the bottom of the eighth, Wheeler came up to bat against New Hampshire pitcher Alex Jackson. Wheeler hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Pilots on top, 17-5.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Wheeler told the Wichita Daily.
