Both teams had their chances, but the Halifax Frigates eventually prevailed.

The inspired effort of Bowie second baseman Tony Powell was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-7, to the Halifax Frigates. Powell was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Tommy Weese picked up the win in relief for Halifax, while Peyton Tran took the loss. Colton Romanyuk nailed down his 2nd save.

Halifax used a clutch hit from Ricard Wohlgemuth to get the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Frigates ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt good up there," said Wohlgemuth. "I saw the ball well."

Yes, it was a win for Halifax; but their 10-25 mark is nothing to crow about.
