Extra-Inning Win by Rumble Ponies Over Yard Goats
|
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies picked up a win at Dunkin' Donuts Park, taking down the Hartford Yard Goats, 5-3. Starting pitcher Jacques Gray was a big reason why. Binghamton reliever Simon Malloy picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Carter Scott was saddled with the loss. With this game in the books, Binghamton is 22-15, Hartford 13-24.
Binghamton used the timely hitting of Alexander Sasso to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Rumble Ponies on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nervous? No," said Sasso. "It was my time to shine."
