Lancaster Tags Providence with 3-2 Defeat

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Lancaster Barnstormers got the win.
Lancaster Barnstormers starter Owen Watkins turned in an exceptional performance against the Providence Crabs at Holyoke Grounds, resulting in a Lancaster win, 3-2. Watkins went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-3.
Lancaster used a well-timed hit by Stanley Bourgeois to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Barnstormers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Bourgeois told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
Lancaster's record now stands at 15-22, placing them 8th in the Eastern League Southwest Division.
