Sea Dogs Take Down Patriots, 4-2
|
Portland took on Somerset in front of a lively crowd.
The Portland Sea Dogs got a stellar performance from pitcher Greg Sigmon, who handcuffed the Somerset offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Hadlock Field. Portland goes to 16-23, Somerset to 16-23.
Hilario Nava went 2-3 with 2 singles for Portland. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dave Tooley. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Nava told the Portland Observer. "But we take nothing for granted."
