Ryan McRae was a major factor in the 11-7 Akron win over Wichita. The RubberDucks center fielder went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. The win was credited to Nathan Frascella in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Lincoln Rudder took the loss. The RubberDucks, now 17-23, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

Akron used the timely hitting of Liam Laffoon to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the RubberDucks on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," McRae said. "We did a good job of that today."
