The Akron RubberDucks handed the Yonkers Dark Knights a sound defeat, 11-2, at Canal Park. Étienne Poulin, who is tied for 4th in the EL in doubles with 11, was a main contributor to the win. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Akron. Xavier Raya was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Alex Schaffer. Their 24-19 record puts the RubberDucks 4th in the Eastern League Southwest Division.

Akron grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Poulin hit a solo home run off Alex Schaffer. His 2nd home run of the season put the RubberDucks out in front, 2-1.

"They took it to us," said Yonkers manager Vince Hendrix.
