Rumble Ponies Rally to Tally 2-1 Win
|
Erie got a big-time effort from pitcher Damian Lanahan, but it wasn't enough to keep the Binghamton Rumble Ponies from winning the game, 2-1. Lanahan threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Reliever Jared Ward picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Dave Given took the loss. The triumph puts Binghamton at 26-16 for the season.
Rafael Solis, who is tied for 4th in the EL in RBI with 28, contributed to the Binghamton win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
Solis called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
