Quebec Drops Wichita in Pitchers' Duel
|
The Quebec Metros did just enough to sneak past the Wichita Pilots, 1-0, at Metros Ballpark. Quebec pitcher Houston Dickey, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Dickey. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was A.J. Estrada. Levi Denton closed it out for his 8th save.
Grayson Wiggin took Wichita hurler A.J. Estrada deep in the bottom of the second. His solo home run put the Metros on top, 1-0. In all, Wiggin had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"For the most part, I didn't think they knew what was coming," said Dickey.
The Metros now have a record of 18-28.
