The Altoona Curve topped the Halifax Frigates, 9-4, in Eastern League action at MGM Park. The standout performance belonged to Altoona pitcher and Marksville, Louisiana, native Gregory Duff. Altoona now owns a record of 17-29.

Hale Chong, the 25-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Chong contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Altoona up, 3-2.

"I know we have our doubters," said Halifax manager Leo Olvera. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
