Frigates, Conroy Pin Bad Loss on Fisher Cats
The Halifax Frigates pounded the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 16-2, at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Halifax center fielder Emmanuel Conroy had a game-changing performance. He was 1-1 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Miró Leal, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-5. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 3. The Frigates sit in last place in the Eastern League North Division with a record of 18-32.

Conroy had no bigger at-bat than in the top of the sixth when the 26-year old right fielder hit a grand slam home run. The home run gave Halifax the lead, 9-2. It was his 1st home run of the season.

New Hampshire manager Rich Hernandez called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
