Akron Makes Quebec 6-3 Losers
|
The Akron RubberDucks defeated the Quebec Metros, 6-3. Doing his part was first baseman Jimmy Janey, who went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The RubberDucks now have a record of 28-21.
Akron took a 6-3 lead on Étienne Poulin's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Poulin hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Quebec pitcher Bronson Mathias visibly frustrated.
"Our offense was purring," said Akron manager Damon Cordero. "Like a well-oiled machine."
