RubberDucks Edge Bighorns, 7-6
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
The Akron RubberDucks did just enough to nip the Lincoln Bighorns, 7-6, in 11 innings. Akron pitcher Ayrton Boogert, in particular, had a standout performance. The 'W' lifts Akron's record to 27-22.
The RubberDucks got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Vito Santiago. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the RubberDucks.
"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Boogert said.
