Rumble Ponies Get 8-6 Win Versus Bowie
|
Enriqueta Marquez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Bowie Baysox from losing, 8-6, to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at NYSEG Stadium. Marquez went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jacques Gray, the winning pitcher, is now 5-1. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 2. Earning his 1st save for Binghamton was Emmett Buxton.
Binghamton took a 8-4 lead on Alexander Sasso's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Sasso hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bowie pitcher Steve Gallogly visibly frustrated.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Sasso said (again).
Binghamton is now 30-22, while Bowie is 25-27.
