The Hartford Yard Goats picked up a win at FirstEnergy Stadium, knocking off the Lancaster Barnstormers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Damian Mitchel was a big reason why. The 5th-place Yard Goats improved to 24-25.

Giorgio Loftus dealt the Barnstormers a blow in the top of the third. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Hartford leading 4-0, Loftus, who is tied for 10th in the EL in hits with 57, hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.

"Damian was throwing with conviction," said Hartford manager Bill Medina.
