Yard Goats Pull Out Late Win, 8-7
The Hartford Yard Goats needed 10 innings to beat the Halifax Frigates, 8-7, at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The win was due in part to third baseman Lenny McGonigle, who was 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Hartford reliever Milton Cazzola was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Frank Szalai. The win puts Hartford at 21-32.

Hartford got a clutch hit from Russel Parise. The designated hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"This was a tremendous character win for our team," said Hartford manager Marco Rios.
