The Hartford Yard Goats got a superb performance from pitcher Yerdel Rosendo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Akron. The RubberDucks won the game, 7-2. Rosendo threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball. Hartford has now lost 5 consecutive games.

Hanford Allen, the 24-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Allen contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Akron up, 3-2.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Allen told the Akron Today. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
