Orellana Excels, But Yard Goats Win
|
The Akron RubberDucks and Hartford Yard Goats were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Despite a fine performance by third baseman Berny Orellana, the Akron RubberDucks lost to the Hartford Yard Goats, 9-6. Orellana was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Carter Scott was credited with the save for Hartford, his 11th of the season.
Ezra Hobson aided the Hartford cause with a run-scoring strikeout in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Hartford manager Jake Anderson.
Hartford, at 21-35, sits in 8th place in the Eastern League North Division.
