The skies opened up and the rain fell at NYSEG Stadium.
The Erie SeaWolves beat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 6-4, at NYSEG Stadium. Erie designated hitter Adam Young had an outstanding performance. He went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Theodore Conrad recorded his 11th save for Erie.
Young contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Erie in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Young took a slider from Selig Freeman and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the SeaWolves to leap in front, 3-2.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Young told the Erie Chronicle, "and we played pretty well tonight."
Erie occupies 6th place in the Eastern League Southwest Division at 28-31.
