The Somerset Patriots topped the Akron RubberDucks, 5-2, in Eastern League action at Canal Park. The standout performance belonged to Somerset pitcher and Paradise, Nevada, native Vic Schramm. Fred Rich collected his 14th save. After today's action, Somerset sits at 38-20; Akron slips to 32-26.
With two out in the top of the seventh, Riley Rhyne had a game-changing hit. The Patriots third baseman slammed a 2-run single off Kyler Hester, making the score 5-2, Somerset.
