RubberDucks Find a Way to Win
|
The Akron RubberDucks knocked off the New Haven Ravens, 6-5, at Canal Park. It took 13 innings. Billy Lamica was a prime reason Akron won. The third baseman was 4 for 6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. Akron reliever Jayden Eaves picked up the win to move to 2-0. Jeff Crowley suffered the loss. Akron is now 33-25.
The decisive blow was delivered by Michael Huttner in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Crowley to win the game for Akron. The home crowd went nuts.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Lamica said, postgame.
