Binghamton used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jared Ward to down the Lancaster Barnstormers, 4-1. The Rumble Ponies, at 32-25, sit in 4th place in the Eastern League North Division.
Robbie Thorne, the 22-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Thorne contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Binghamton up, 2-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Binghamton skipper Jimmy Kohler. "I can't complain."
