Barnstormers Suffer 6-2 Setback
|
Binghamton first baseman Robbie Thorne helped his team beat the Lancaster Barnstormers, 6-2. Thorne, who leads the EL in stolen bases with 24, went 3 for 4 for the Rumble Ponies. Heathcliff Martin picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Cole Wagner was tagged with the loss. The Rumble Ponies raised their record to 33-26.
Thorne had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from Cole Wagner, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Rumble Ponies a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Thorne.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Thorne said.
