Grizzlies Get Clutch Win Versus Hartford
|
The Hartford Yard Goats got a whale of a performance from left fielder B.J. Baldwin, but the Gateway Grizzlies still prevailed, 7-6, in 11 innings. Baldwin went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Isaiah Chaiman, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Grizzlies now own a record of 28-32.
Gilardino Bueno delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th to win it for the Grizzlies. For the game, Bueno was 1 for 5.
"You play a lot of one-run games," said Gateway skipper Elijah Holmes, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game."
