In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, shortstop Jaiden Schmidt won it for Erie. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Schmidt hit a 1-1 curveball from Marco Benavirez for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Schmidt. "It was a great win."
