Grizzlies Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Frigates, 4-3
The Halifax Frigates got a superb performance from pitcher Tom Scales. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Gateway. The Grizzlies won the game, 4-3. Scales threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Oscar Carrasco recorded his 1st save for Gateway. The loss has the Frigates at 1-3.

Gateway used the timely hitting of Émile Maltais to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Halifax manager Leo Olvera said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
