Metros Held in Check by RubberDucks, Lose, 2-1
|
In a tight game between the Quebec Metros and the Akron RubberDucks, nobody was more important for the winners than Hanford Allen. Allen was masterful in the 2-1 win. Owen Franklin was credited with the save for Akron, his 1st of the season. Akron occupies 4th place in the Eastern League Southwest Division at 32-33.
Paul Underwood dealt the Metros a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Akron leading 1-0, Underwood hit a 1-2 sinker for a run-scoring single.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Allen said after the game.
