The Binghamton Rumble Ponies did just enough to nip the Akron RubberDucks, 4-3, in 10 innings. Binghamton pitcher Santiago Gil, in particular, had a standout performance. Binghamton goes to 36-34, Akron to 39-31.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for John Grieco? The 25-year old second baseman Grieco stroked a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the tenth inning to put Binghamton up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Akron manager Damon Cordero.
