Ravens Paste 9-5 Loss on Yard Goats
|
Spirited fans greeted the Hartford Yard Goats for their clash with the New Haven Ravens.
Jermaine Shaw made an impact in the 9-5 New Haven win over Hartford. Shaw, the 34th overall pick in the 2047 draft, was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The winner was Ellis Ledwith, who threw 83 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits.
With New Haven leading 5-2 in the top of the eighth, Shaw hit a fastball from Heath Martin for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Ravens ahead, 8-2.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Shaw told the New Haven Times.
New Haven is off to a hot start at 2-0.
