Big Day for Heintz as Yard Goats Down Barnstormers, 8-5
FirstEnergy Stadium was the site for Eastern League action featuring the Lancaster Barnstormers and Hartford Yard Goats.

Getting a good performance from catcher Steve Heintz, the Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers, 8-5. Heintz went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Yard Goats. The winning pitcher was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Richie Lyness. He tossed 84 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits.

The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Heintz hit a run-scoring double off Jeffrey Grow. It propelled the Yard Goats into the lead, 3-2.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Heintz said.

By defeating Lancaster, the 6th-place Yard Goats improved to 27-43.
