Gunslingers Ballpark hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Warren Mohammed pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Quebec Metros, despite Mohammed's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Yonkers Dark Knights at Gunslingers Ballpark. Leeroy Watson picked up the save for Yonkers, his 20th of the year.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded and Quebec trailing 2-0, Leeroy Watson needed to get a big out. On a 0-2 fastball, Brody Green, who is tied for 10th in the EL with a .397 on-base percentage, struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
The Dark Knights sit in 5th place in the Eastern League North Division with a record of 39-33.
