Lincoln Edges Lancaster in Extra Innings
|
The Lincoln Bighorns had to overcome a big game from Lancaster catcher Joaquim Avila to leave ONEOK Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 3-2, in 10 innings. Avila was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Lincoln reliever Stefanos Coffey picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Samuel Turner was saddled with the loss. Lincoln is in 4th place in the Eastern League Southwest Division with a record of 39-31.
The Bighorns got a clutch hit from second baseman Sam Becenti. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Bighorns.
"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Becenti.
