Curve Best Sea Dogs in Pitching Duel
|
Hadlock Field was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The Altoona Curve picked up a win at Hadlock Field, taking down the Portland Sea Dogs, 2-0. Starting pitcher Gregory Duff was a big reason why. Daniel Seaton finished the game for Altoona and earned his 8th save.
Altoona used the bat of Zach Myers to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Curve ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"They played a better game than we did," said Portland skipper Manny Garcia.
The win puts the Curve at 31-45, while the Sea Dogs drop to 28-48.
