The Providence Crabs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Angel Leal into a win. Instead, the Hartford Yard Goats prevailed, 6-1. Leal threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Hartford reliever Brock Bryce picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Angel Leal took the loss. Hartford goes to 3-1 with the win.
In the bottom of the fourth, Hartford left fielder Ángelino Heredia had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Heredia stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-1, Hartford. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Heredia.
