Ravens Beaten, 5-2, by Lincoln
|
The Lincoln Bighorns faced a tough opponent in New Haven pitcher Grant Hawkins, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Ballpark at Jackson by a final score of 5-2. Hawkins went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. The winning pitcher was Harrison Haydon. He tossed 105 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. Picking up his 3rd save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Zak Callahan.
Lincoln needed the clutch hitting of Robby Craun to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bighorns on top, 2-0. For the game, Craun had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I like the makeup of this team," said Bighorns manager Jackson Ladue.
With the win, the Bighorns improved to 51-26.
