Somerset Loses, 5-3, to Quebec in 10
|
Metros Ballpark was the site of quite a ballgame.
Led by Rudy Williams, the Quebec Metros downed the Somerset Patriots, 5-3, in 10 innings. Williams went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Metros. Quebec reliever Gunner Justice was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Anrique Gonzalez.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Williams hit a slider from Anrique Gonzalez for a 2-run home run. The Metros, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
In postgame remarks, Williams said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
With the win, the Metros have a record of 43-40.
