The Wichita Pilots bested the Halifax Frigates, 6-1, at MGM Park. Tom Carter was one of the standouts. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jake Barnes, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-5. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Archer Kesler earned the save, his 2nd.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Carter hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Pilots into the lead, 3-1.
Carter called the win "a collective effort."
Wichita now has a record of 44-39 with the win.
