Baysox Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Bighorns, 4-3
|
The Bowie Baysox defeated the Lincoln Bighorns, 4-3, in Eastern League action at ONEOK Field. Bowie pitcher Dante van Veenendaal had a standout performance. Bowie reliever Ben Davison picked up the win. Doug Boley, who is tied for 10th in the EL in holds with 6, took the loss for Lincoln. The Baysox are now 35-48.
Brantley Macek delivered a big hit for Bowie. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Baysox ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
After the game, Bowie manager Mike Pascarella applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
