Cooper Hits Two Homers in 10-9 Win for Halifax
The Halifax Frigates beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 10-9, Frigates. One of the hitting stars was left fielder Rich Cooper. Cooper was 4-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The Frigates improved their record to 36-49 with the win over New Hampshire.

The Fisher Cats had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Frigates going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old left fielder Wiley Hite came to the plate. Hite hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch slider from New Hampshire hurler Lindsay Poteet. It was Hite's 8th double of the year.

"Ugly win or not, we'll take it," said Hite.
