Jim Thomas did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Bowie Baysox from being beaten, 8-6, to the Lincoln Bighorns at Prince George's Stadium. Thomas was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The first-place Bighorns go to 61-27.

Lincoln needed the clutch hitting of Isaac Pozzuto to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bighorns on top, 8-4. For the game, Pozzuto had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Pozzuto.
