Barnstormers Get Past Bowie for 3-2 Win
|
The Lancaster Barnstormers took Bowie pitcher Carter Ferguson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at FirstEnergy Stadium. The final score had Lancaster getting past the Baysox, 3-2. Ferguson went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 9. Lancaster reliever Ethan Davis picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Silas Fountain was tagged with the loss. The second-place Barnstormers raised their record to 50-38.
Willie Rodriguez was the walk-off hero for Lancaster. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Barnstormers catcher hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Rodriguez, cracking a smile.
