Ravens Slap 7-2 Loss on Wichita
|
New Haven pitcher Cameron Bentham did his part in helping his team defeat the Wichita Pilots, 7-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. In 5.2 innings, Bentham surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. Their 39-46 record puts the Ravens 6th in the Eastern League North Division.
John Williams had a big bases-clearing double for the Ravens in the bottom of the first inning. With New Haven leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Linwood Majcher, who is tied for 7th in the EL in innings pitched with 101.0, and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ravens ahead, 4-0.
Said losing manager Reuben Nieves: "Give the Ravens credit. They played a better game than we did."
