SeaWolves Score Late, Upend Fisher Cats, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Erie SeaWolves and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, pitcher Jaques Porras was the difference between victory and defeat. The Erie right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 SeaWolves win. Jamilton De Anda, who leads the EL in holds with 10, was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Kent Noble. Erie is now 45-45, while New Hampshire is 53-37.
Erie took a 2-1 lead on Aubrey Wooten's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Wooten hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New Hampshire pitcher Thurston Thompson visibly frustrated.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Porras.
