Hartford and Lancaster duked it out and the Yard Goats came out victorious.

The Hartford Yard Goats had to overcome a fine effort from Lancaster pitcher Bertrand Thompson to win, 5-4, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Thompson went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Elmore Neville notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 5-6.

Hartford used the timely hitting of Elijah Bezuhov to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Yard Goats on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Hartford manager Tristan Beam.

The third-place Barnstormers now sit at 51-42.
