The Akron RubberDucks finished off the Somerset Patriots, 8-2. Much of the credit belonged to right fielder Archer Loera. Loera was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the RubberDucks. The current losing streak for Somerset has reached 6 games.

With Akron leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Loera hit a curveball from Shaun Lai for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the RubberDucks ahead, 3-0.

Somerset manager Alex Chavez said: "Over the course of the season, you're going to have little ruts where you're not getting the breaks and when you're not playing well. This is one of them."
