The Akron RubberDucks beat the Yonkers Dark Knights, 8-7, at Canal Park. Akron second baseman Woody Houser banged out 1 single and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. The losing streak has reached 8 games for the Dark Knights. Manager Vince Hendrix was visibly upset after the game, hurling a string of profanities en route to the clubhouse.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Akron trailing 7-6, Houser hit a fastball from B.J. Hart for a 2-run single. In the blink of an eye, the RubberDucks had a walk-off win.

"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager Vince Hendrix.
